If you’re too lazy to listen here’s the script.
Hey, what’s up my name is Zuko. Most of you know me. So I haven’t done this for the entire club, but I think it’s appropriate that we do have one of these talks. So welcome to the first official club meeting. So a lot has changed since the beginning of this club. If you were here from the start, I think you realized how big we have grown in such a short amount of time. And with that growth, we have to adapt to those changes.
Back then, we didn’t really have rules or enforce rules because everyone kind of knew eachother and we all kind of respected eachother. Overtime that changes though, you have new blood entering the club. And so this meeting is to address certain issues that are becoming pretty sensitive and hot topic issues. And so everyones on the same page, I decided to do this little meeting.
So a lot of questions are asked about the purges that we do. And why we do them. Look, every member in this club was selected either by myself or another member. So out of 3000 people in the other BP Discord or wherever, we invited you to be a part of this club. The entire idea of why we purge members almost weekly or every 2 weeks is because we want members to actually engage with the club. It doesn’t take much. Just talk, doesn’t even have to be relevant to the conversation being discussed. But that’s the entire point of a “SOCIAL” club. You’re here to vibe. So we purge members who kind of just join and don’t really say anything. Like we don’t know who you are. That’s the entire point of the purge. Every club member knows eachother from just talking to eachother. Its simple. And the excuse that most purged members come up with is like well my friends aren’t in the server and theyre the ones who I mainly talk to. Well shit dude invite them in. But if you’re here and you’re just lurking, you’re going to get exposed.
So another thing that I noticed as we grow, is that there’s a lot people now active in the chats. And some of these conversations are pretty meme and some are not. Sensitive topics like rape, suicide, and other shit is unacceptable in this club. I actually had a member who DMed me, I’m not going to name them who actually underwent that experience of being raped and expressed concerns of some of the jokes going around in discord. And to be honest, yea I have to agree. As degenerate as this discord is. That is crossing the line. That’s literally borderline discord terms of service. I’m not saying we’re banning the word. But if you’re like explicitly saying “I raped a girl” and shit. Your fuckin out of here bro, like that’s a bann in my book. That’s crossing the line. Jokingly or not. So just be careful of how you use these words in context, and be mindful that this is a club. We all respect eachother, we all decided to hang out in the club to escape real-life problems and shit. You don’t need to put that bad vibe in the air. And to be fair, as a moderator and administrator team, we weren’t on top of that. And that’s our fault. But I’ve expressed to the staff that we’re going to be watching general chat a lot more carefully. Don’t mistake, you can still joke around and meme and shit. But serious topics like those, we’re locking them down, common sense shit.
So I think another thing is some members trust this club believe it or not. Like they talk about real-life issues in general chat. And I think we all need to be respectful to some degree that hey, everybody is going through shit. Like try to read the vibe. I mean there’s been some serious discussions in discord like about geo-politics and shit or real-life advice. Whatever it is. So just be mindful again and respectful of eachother that hey yea we can meme and joke around, but when it gets down to serious issues and shit. Like to try to be respectful of it.
So we have a lot of new members coming in, we’ve all been there. Joining a discord and being that new member. Do some common courtesy shit and welcome them in. Because then what’s the point of letting everyone see who joins.
I think it’s also important to know if you have issues you can come up to any of the mods or admins and just talk to them. I know we joke around a lot, but we do take that shit seriously. So I mean I think it’s important that everyone knows that you can go up to a member of the staff and have a serious discussion about shit.
Other then that, we’ll kind of address issues as they come up. But that’s kind of what I wanted to shed light on and give everyone a heads up that we’re going to be enforcing some general rules here.
