Introduction
Hello, my name is Zuko and for all the new members or guests. I’m the guild leader for Nightfall and this is our first live guild-townhall meeting. In this meeting we’ll be discussing some in-house stuff like recruitment overhaul, some guild activities, and guild wide projects that are in the works, CBT, and all of that. However, most of this meeting is going to be dedicated to a Q/A session from members. A lot of you guys have questions about the guild and concerns and so this meeting has been created to kind of address those concerns and give a platform. Uhm so I’m not going to lie, we might not have all the answers to your questions for now. Because the guild is operating on the limited knowledge that we have of Blue Protocol so a lot of the questions prob won’t be answered until we know more. Since there’s so many people in this meeting and to keep it under a timely fashion cause I know a lot of you have changed your schedule to be here. I ask everyone mute their mics and when we get to the QA session. One of the officers will select 1 question at a time and you can unmute your mic then and ask it away. Depending on how many questions we’re going to get, we’ll try to answer as many as we can, but our goal is to keep this meeting to an hour.
Recruitment Overhaul
So one of the most controversial topics that have been brought to my attention is recruitment. At this time the guild is 80 members strong out of our 100 cap. And we have closed off public recruitment until after CBT. There’s an estimated 10-20 people waiting to apply after CBT and that number is growing.. with that said, obviously myself and guild officers are honestly on top of purging right now. And everyone is doing a pretty good job. Everyone in the guild right now is fairly active or has a legitimate excuse. We’re really looking at members that aren’t active either in voice or chat and just purging them. So just make sure that you’re active and that everytime me or an officer goes down the roster for purge checks, we’re not asking ourselves like “Who is this member?”
If your name is highlighted in red on the roster – that means your at risk of being removed from the guild like you are the first to go if we’re crunched for spots. So you should prob check in with a guild officer and clear that up. I’m not going to sugar coat it, We just don’t have the space anymore. Every spot in the guild is in high demand, there’s literally a line of people that want your spot. It is what it is.
So with that said, we’re definitely introducing a complete overhaul of our recruitment. We’re now going to be including in-voice interviews on discord. I told all the officers that we now need to start being more exclusive, and starting after CBT every applicant is going to have to go through an interview. We’re going to start looking at details such as timezone and region, and kind of gage the mentality of the applicants more carefully. So that’s going to be up to each recruitment officer to facilitate those interviews and make that call.
Nightfall Activities
So the next topic is Nightfall Activities. So lets be honest here we have a lot of time before Blue Protocol goes into OBT for Japan and we even have a LONGER time before Blue Protocol is global and goes to the West (Honestly estimating 6months to a year after JP launch for a Western version and that’s given the best of circumstances). I know everyone is kind of like living off the hype with the CBT announcements and all, but I think we have to remember that CBT is only 3 Days. What are we going to do after those 3 days until you know the next test which could be months or whatever given the situation with Corona and all. And that’s something me Faren and Ace have talked about and we decided that we should do game nights. So there’s no excuse to not play other games with the guild. Faren is constantly playing different games. Just hop in voice-chat and join in. You know we played, Uno, Deceit, Heroes and Generals. I mean its whatever. I constantly ask anyone if they want to play WWZ, so I would definitely say if you’re bored or you want to get to know your members more. These game nights are the way to go. These are how future static raid teams are being formed right now. But with that said, I have discussed this with Ace and Faren as well and we really just need a temporary MMO to just kill time on. Preferable a fresh-MMO. So I pitched this idea to the officers, and I think everyone was sort of on board. So there’s a MMO coming out in April 15th, and we’re prob going to go into it and have a guild there just to kill time. Nothing serious, we’re not going into it hardcore. It’s just a really casual game for members to kill time on. And that game is Aura Kingdom 2. Now before everyone starts bashing on it. This isn’t required. This is optional, this is for the members that are bored and want an MMO to play together on. And this is the only MMO that is free and new that is on the market. So that’s why we didn’t choose other options like FFXIV or ESO or other titles that a lot of you are prob recommending.
Guild-Wide Projects
A lot of people have great ideas for the guild. And these ideas started evolving into a number of Guild-projects that we are starting. These are teams of members that are literally like a task-force. And it’s a great way to meet guildies, instead of talking to like 80 members and trying to get to know them. You get to spend time with 5 on a project. And you get to accomplish something that will benefit the entire guild. So I definitely encourage everyone to get involved in these projects. So these are the current projects that we’re currently working on or looking into.
- Blue Protocol Podcast – So this is a project that I’m jumpstarting. I’m a big fan of theorycrafting. And with CBT, there’s going to be a lot of information to finally start a podcast series. And this isn’t just for the guild, but it’s also for the entirety of the Blue Protocol community as well. Wouldn’t be hard to setup or do.
- Info-Command Center – So this is a project that I think is definitely going to prob require a large team. This project is literally looking at all the information that comes out of CBT and separate the useful information that is relevant to us from the garbage information and basically create a cheat-sheet of what we need to know. They’ll prob be working in sync with CBT Guildies to start compiling that information and outside streamers and etc.
- Nightfall Waifu Wallpaper – So surprisingly enough, a lot of people are interested in creating a Nightfall-Guild inspired wallpaper. I’m all for it. So we’re looking into it, cause obviously that requires basically 1. If the guild artists even want to do it.
So again if you have any ideas that you think are good, you can run them by me or another officer and we’ll see if its worth looking into.
CBT
So at the time of this meeting prep. 30% of the guild got into CBT or more accurately, around 25 members got into CBT. A lot of you are probably asking, How? Well, some gotten them through actually being lucky but most members got them through being active in voice-chat and knowing members. As a guild we can’t dictate how people give their keys out. The guild can only distribute keys if they are donated to the guild. And that’s entirely up to the person donating the keys. With that said. Guildies in CBT can expect a future meeting closer to the CBT date to kind of organize what we’re going to accomplish in-game and etc. How we are approaching this is pretty simple and straight-forward. If you got your CBT Key from the guild, you’re going to be expected to do work. Because every key matters. You’re going to go into CBT and try to gather as much info as you can on behalf of the Guild that sponsored your key.
But I highly recommend everyone starts using voice-chat more. And that sounds like bullshit since I’m prob one of the most inactive voice-chat guildies here. But I’m telling you, the people who are getting keys first are the members who are active in voice-chat. So even if you’re going to go AFK or don’t feel like talking. Just chill in the AFK Channel or deafen yourself like the rest of us. But the point of this is, is that yes it’s cool that we’re active in discord text, but we need to start building that mentality and culture of using discord voice. Because once Blue protocol goes live, nobody is going to alt-tab between discord text and voice chat. And the more people on VC, the more likely other members/club is also going to hop on VC.
Guild Officers
So it’s going to be crunch week after CBT. Uhm there’s going to be a lot of interviews for potential members, a lot of guild projects are going to start or finish. So it’s obviously come down to, we need to expand the officer core, specifically recruitment officers. So after CBT, we’ll be looking for officers to help do all this. So if you’re interested, talk to me or faren. And we’ll look into all the candidates and begin that selection process after CBT. Expectations and kind of the responsibilities of these officers are going to be, conducting these interviews and selecting possible members. Organizing and keeping the guild projects on track, keep the roster up-to-date. It’s basically a lot of behind the scenes work, like administrative work. Now at this time we are only looking specifically for recruitment officers. I think at a later time, we’ll be looking for raid-leaders and other officers that will be more involved in kind of the stuff in-game. Since Blue Protocol isn’t live yet, this is what we’re looking for.
So that concludes everything, we’ll be moving onto the QA Session from members so lets start off with some questions from members that couldn’t make it to the meeting while officers select people for the next questions.
—————————————————-QA SESSION——————————————————–
Kuro – Direction of the guild post-CBT? I think the direction of this guild is pretty clear. I’ve been pretty hesitant on labeling the guild any specific kind of title like hardcore or casual or semi-hardcore. And the reason for that is because a lot of guilds like to talk shit. Like they say they’re hardcore, but later down the road. They’re not competitive. Especially early-on in the games development like Blue Protocol. And I think hardcore just has a negative connotation to it now in gaming. With that said, I would officially label and categorize this guild as competitive. And I think that’s proven with our actions from the amount of organization and commitment we have shown to just prep for Blue Protocol, inactivity purges, meetings, etc, all of that I don’t think you see a lot of guilds do that on the scale that we do. So Post-CBT direction of the guild is going to be focusing on again going back to the Guild-Projects. Information dumping. There’s going to be so much info to analyze and go over and then take all of that and put it into 1-page summary sheets for members to go over quickly.
